Edgar 'Taff' Jones orgnaised and held the first, and unofficial, Pathfinder
Force reunion back in 1983 and this spawned the idea for an annual event. He was
adament that the reunion should encompass all squadrons that made up the
Pathfinder Force of World War II. This is still the motivation, although
nowadays it has been widened, slightly, to include family and relatives of those
that served in the Pathfinder Force.
From the very start Taff was helped and assisted by his loving wife, Nora and a
team of close family and friends. Each and every year the event grew and grew
and it never looked like stopping. Indeed, since the sad passing of Taff and
Nora, the annual reunion has continued.
These days the reunion is organised, in part, by Nora and Taff's eldest daughter
Bronwen and her husband Brian. They have a great team working with them too,
some of whom were there from the very beginning.
In recent years, the annual Pathfinder Reunion has been blessed with a fly-over
by the BBMF Lancaster. It is a sight and sound to behold and brings a great deal
of joy to those that attend and those of the village of Warboys who pass by or
look out of their windows. All those involved with the reunion are eternally
greatful for the fly-over and long may it continue.
Many great photographs have been taken of the BBMF Lancaster fly-overs. It was
these spectacular memories that lead to the idea of sharing them on this
website. However, when we looked through the many photographs kept by Taff,
Nora, Bronwen and Brian a great deal more memories came flooding back.
So here you will find selections of photographs taken over the years at many of
the Warboys Pathfinder Reunion events and RAFA dinners.
The intention of this website is for people to contribute to the history of
these events. This can be achieved by supplying names to faces, better still,
your own photographs!
We have grouped the photographs by year which you can select by using the menu
below. There are many gaps since the very first reunion back in May 1983. We
hope, that over time those gaps will be filled by vistors to the site, so please
check back often.
